¡Hola! I am so excited to be part of the beautiful Gun Lake community. In the short time that our restaurant has been open we have been very pleased to receive the support and friendship of both year-round and summer residents as well as campers and day tourists.
I am a native of Honduras, Central America, but I have now lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan for more than 30 years. My entrepreneurial spirit and passion for food inspired me to open my first restaurant, Taquería El Rincón Mexicano in Grand Rapids. I wish to continue the tradition of Sandy’s Lakeside Country Kitchen a favorite local breakfast spot as well as bring an authentic Mexican flavor.
For centuries, the people of Latin America have harvested the gifts of the soil; corn, chiles, fresh vegetables and natural spices. It is this harmony with nature that gives Mexican cooking its rich and natural flavors.
We offer inside casual dining and fast, fresh and healthy takeout. Our chef, Jesus Hernandez from Jalisco, Mexico has more than 20 years of experience cocinando (cooking) in restaurants in Chicago and Grand Rapids.
